Second TUM.Additive PhD Seminar

The second TUM.Additive PhD Seminar brought together over 40 researchers from around 20 different TUM institutions to get to know each other and discuss their different research fields. In addition to presentations, there was also a guided tour of the additive manufacturing laboratories in the Newton building.

The seminar started with seven presentations from different areas of additive manufacturing. This time, the focus was on simulation and process monitoring in powder bed fusion (PBF-LB/M), multi-material printing using direct energy deposition (DED) and the combination of additive manufacturing with bolts and wire bends. We also learned new things about additive manufacturing with wood and the printing of biosensors (Sart-Up Noxon).

In small groups, the researchers were able to exchange ideas with others in the same subject area. After a guided tour of the laboratories of the Professorship of Laser-based Additive Manufacturing in the Newton building at the Garching Research Center, discussions took place in large groups. Many thanks to the Venture Lab Additive Manufacturing for sponsoring the quiche and drinks!
