Mission

Additive manufacturing (AM) will fundamentally change the way we design, produce and personalize future products. With TUM.Additive, the Technical University of Munich (TUM) is combining cutting-edge research, excellent education and high-tech infrastructure to further drive AM innovation. In this integrative and interdisciplinary approach, the collaboration between industry and science is strengthened to overcome major technological challenges and further improve AM industrialization.

"TUM.Additive enables us to join scientific efforts, push forward innovations in AM and transfer scientific discoveries into relevant industrial applications!"

Prof. Dr. Katrin Wudy

"With TUM.Additive we can connect all the important AM initiatives across disciplines at TUM, foster visionary approaches in additive manufacturing and educate the AM-experts of tomorrow!"

Prof. Dr. Peter Mayr

Additive Manufacturing at TUM

TUM.Additive bundles the research activities and researchers in the field of additive manufacturing at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Together with Oerlikon, the TUM Oerlikon Advanced Manufacturing Institute was founded to jointly advance advanced manufacturing technologies. The Venture Lab Additive Manufacturing actively supports teams that want to turn innovative research results from the field of additive manufacturing into successful start-ups that exploit the full potential of this key technology to solve the major challenges of our time. The Bavarian Additive Manufacturing Cluster is an initiative for the industrialization of additive manufacturing technologies.
