For the third time, over 40 PhD students of four different schools and eight different departments of Technische Universität München came together to hear about various topics in the field of additive manufacturing. The interdisciplinary pitches covered multi-scale simulation, modeling across scales, mechanical recycling, microfluidic droplet templated cultures, and copper-tungsten composites.

Last week, the TUM Chair of Materials Engineering of Additive Manufacturing hosted the fourth meeting of the "Academic Network Munich for Additive Manufacturing". Many thanks to all participants and for the good cooperation with the chairs of Prof. Christian Seidel, Prof. Katrin Wudy, Prof. Peter Mayr, Prof. Eric Jägle, Prof. Jan Torgersen and the AM team of Fraunhofer IGCV.

14 schoolgirls from all over Bavaria spent two days with TUM.Additive and the Professorship of Laser-based Additive Manufacturing to learn about 3D printing. Together we designed, sliced and printed individual puzzles to take home.

The third TUM.Additive PhD Seminar is scheduled for April 16, 2024! There will again be short scientific talks from various areas in the field of additive manufacturing – from simulation to different materials and manufacturing methods to post-processing.

Exactly one week ago, we had an exciting day at EinDruck³ - an additive manufacturing forum organized by Bayern Innovativ GmbH (Koordinierungsstelle Additive Fertigung)! We spent a whole day in Fürth discussing the latest news from the world of 3D printing.

What a start for the AMeetUp series in 2024! The following presentations contributed to the evening's central theme of the sixth edition of the AMeetUps. Matthias Weisskopf from OECHSLER contrasted mass production and prototyping and pointed out that we need good applications for additive manufacturing.

Are you enthusiastic about additive manufacturing and do you want to discover the latest innovations, learn more about what you can create with 3D printing, and network with other innovators / experts / entrepreneurs in the field of additive manufacturing? Then join us for the next edition of the Munich AMeetUp!

Promoting creative minds | For the fourth time, the “Mobility/Medical goes Additive – The VDI Student Competition” will take place on 26-28 April 2024 in Krailling at the company EOS. The theme of the upcoming competition will be robotics applications.

We celebrated one year of AMeetUps yesterday! The fifth edition was dedicated to additive manufacturing in healthcare. Miriam Haerst presented the journey of Kumovis (3D Systems GmbH). Negar Shahmoradi (ExoSphere), Gregor Weisgrab (Biomotion Technologies), and Ingo Fehr (BellaSeno) pitched their ideas on how to bring the healthcare industry forward. Kilian Mueller talked about his research on…

The second TUM.Additive PhD Seminar brought together over 40 researchers from around 20 different TUM institutions to get to know each other and discuss their different research fields. In addition to presentations, there was also a guided tour of the additive manufacturing laboratories in the Newton building.
