Student competition of the SPP 2305

Become part of the national student competition within the DFG-funded priority program SPP 2305 "Sensor-integrated machine elements as enablers of area-wide digitalization". The competition starts in mid-November 2023 and ends in May 2024.

As a generic basis for a variety of machine elements (rolling bearings, gear parts, drives), the competition will develop a sphere that demonstrates the following capabilities:

• Determination of the 2D trajectory of the rolling ball.
• Differentiation between rolling and sliding.
• Collection and analysis of relevant measurement data.

An additional budget is available to each team to complete optional special tasks:

• Internal energy harvesting (energy harvesting).
• Data transmission by radio.
• Determination of 3D trajectory and operating temperature.
• Strategy for miniaturization of the developed prototype.
