27th Augsburger Seminar for Additive Manufacturing

The Augsburg Seminar for Additive Manufacturing, jointly organized by the Fraunhofer IGCV and the Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management (iwb), took place for the 27th time on 25.07.2024 - this time exceptionally at the research center in Garching.

Prof. Zäh (iwb) kicked off the day with an overview of the status quo of additive manufacturing in the industry. In four sessions on the topics of energy, automotive, aerospace and medical, the participants then gained exciting insights into this year's main topic “From prototype to series: The role of AM in series production”. Dr. Sascha Schwarz (TUM Venture Labs) showed what role start-ups play in this. The seminar was concluded with a panel discussion moderated by Prof. Seidel (HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences).
