Wrap up on AMeetUp #5

We celebrated one year of AMeetUps yesterday! The fifth edition was dedicated to additive manufacturing in healthcare. Miriam Haerst presented the journey of Kumovis (3D Systems GmbH). Negar Shahmoradi (ExoSphere), Gregor Weisgrab (Biomotion Technologies), and Ingo Fehr (BellaSeno) pitched their ideas on how to bring the healthcare industry forward. Kilian Mueller talked about his research on (Filament-based) Melt Electrowriting.

Yesterday's AMeetUp was all about AM in healthcare. Miriam Hearst founded Kumovis together with three others in 2017. Today, Kumovis is part of 3D Systems, but is still involved in printing skull plates made of PEEK, for example. Negar Shahmoradi is co-founder of the start-up ExoShpere, which focuses on the early detection of pancreatic cancer. Gregor Weisgrab spoke about the work of Biomotion Technologies. The start-up produces 3D bioprinters. Ingo Fehr wants to revolutionize implants with his start-up BellaSeno. Kilian Müller from the Chair of Medical Materials and Implants gave us an insight into his research. He and his team are working on (filament-based) melt electrowriting.
