On May 22 and 23, CirculaTUM was present with its own booth in the Start-up Area of the CIRCULAR REPUBLIC Festival at Munich Urban Colab.
As one of the leading events on Circular Economy in German-speaking areas, the festival provided an excellent platform for exchange, networking, and inspiration.
As a network for circular transformation at TUM, we used the opportunity to:
• showcase the diversity of research and innovation projects within our community,
• connect with start-ups, researchers, and practitioners,
• and strengthen our role as a bridge between science and application.
To give visitors a tangible insight into CirculaTUM’s current activities, we exhibited materials from two ongoing research projects:
Future Sustainable Car Materials (FSCM)
This project explores innovative materials for sustainable mobility. It is a collaboration between the Chair of Materials Handling, Material Flow, Logistics, the Chair of Circular Economy (CEC), and the Chair of Materials Engineering of Additive Manufacturing at TUM.
Mycelium-Bound Composites
An example of circular material solutions in the bioeconomy, developed at the Professorship for Mushroom Biotechnology in Wood Science. The project investigates mycelium-based materials and their potential for sustainable construction and design.
We would like to thank all visitors for the inspiring conversations and our CirculaTUM team on site for their great commitment.
The festival once again highlighted the potential of circular transformation – and the importance of strong networks to drive it forward.
