Last year, we launched the CirculaTUM Connect series because we recognized many overlooked intersections between research disciplines. There is immense value in a research community that exchanges ideas and stays curious beyond disciplinary boundaries. This holds true, especially for circular economy, which can only be achieved by working together and addressing these intersections.
Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of hosting the LCA-PhD Seminar at TUM Campus Garching as part of our CirculaTUM Connect series – an inspiring afternoon filled with insightful keynote presentations, knowledge exchange, and networking with fellow LCA enthusiasts. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a method for evaluating the environmental impacts of a product, process, or service throughout its entire life cycle. LCAs are inherently complex, which is not made easier by numerous variations in methodologies, databases, and software tools.
During the seminar, researchers from various disciplines came together to discuss:
✅ LCA applications in research and industry
✅ Challenges and opportunities in LCA methodologies and tools
✅ Networking and knowledge-sharing among LCA experts
A big thank you to everyone who participated, shared insights, and contributed to the discussions! We look forward to continuing these exchanges and further strengthening the LCA research community within CirculaTUM.
