CirculaTUM at the TUM Sustainability Day 2026

Our booth (M22) was buzzing with great conversations all day long. We were especially happy to showcase the sheer diversity of our network in such a tangible way:

• A real crowd-pleaser was the lightweight low-cost robot from the Chair of Product Development and Lightweight Design (LPL). With experts from the Chair right there at the booth, visitors could learn firsthand how affordable robotics can support the circular economy in the future.
• The team from RenewPoly joined us as well, sharing exciting insights into their work on sustainable polymers and demonstrating how responsible chemistry is paving the way for a greener future.
• We brought along various exhibits from our network projects, including interesting pieces from the Carbon Hemp project.
• Games & interaction: Whether it was our Circular Memory or the Climate Scale cards – it was fantastic to see visitors of all ages interact with our topics through play and start a conversation with us.

Besides the action at the booth, we also hosted our own panel: “Bridging Research and Practice: Circular Transformation and TUM Project Initiatives”. Moderated by Prof. Magnus Fröhling and Prof. Johannes Fottner, we discussed the various ways science contributes to the circular economy together with our guests Prof. Dr. Reuter, Prof. Dr. Benz, Prof. Dr. Büthe, and Dr. Tallawi. The session made one thing very clear: collaboration is key, and the solutions for tomorrow’s challenges are being built right here.
